Kiwi Cuisine, the Gourmet Spitroast Company

Q:  When you cater for a serviced spit roast or BBQ what do you provide other than the great food?
A:  Included in the per-person price is all the crockery, cutlery, food service staff and the buffet tables and tablecloths.

Q:  What time will your team arrive on site?
A:  For spit roast catering we arrive on site about one hour prior to your arranged eating time. For BBQ Catering we arrive on site up to 1½ hours prior to your eating time. For suppers or afternoon teas we arrive as close to your eating time as possible.

Q:  How many staff will you have on site?
A:  The number of staff we have is directly dependant on your menu requirements and the number of guests.

Q:  Do your staff look after the bar?
A:  If required we can provide bar staff for you at an additional cost.

Q:  What will your staff be wearing?
A:  Black trousers (or skirts for woman), white shirt, black shoes, black apron. Hats and sunglasses may be worn for outdoor events.

Q:  Do you need power?
A:  Only if onsite cooking is required. We also need power for tea and coffee (although we can cope with no power if we are advised beforehand).

Q:  Do you cook on site?
A:  We only cook on site if the travel to the venue is more than 90 minutes from our base, in which case we do have an additional per-person charge to cover the additional 4 hours that our staff will be on site.

Q:  Do you bring the spit roast machine?
A:  Not usually. If we are cooking onsite we do, and for larger events that have good access we often do. In most instances we bring along one of our unique carvery units which run on fuel gel to keep the meats piping hot whilst being carved and served.

Q:  Do you set the guest tables?
A:  Not usually. For those who want the cutlery on the tables you are more than welcome to pick them up from our place in the morning or even the day before.

Q:  Do you clear away the plates from the guest tables?
A:  Yes, after each course our staff will clear all the plates from the guest tables.

Q:  What happens to the leftover food?
A:  You are more than welcome to keep any left-overs that have not been left out in the open for more than 1 hour. Our staff retain the right to dispose of anything that they believe would not be safe to eat the following day (normally only items that have been out on the buffet for more than an hour or so). All leftovers must be refrigerated immediately and eaten within 24 hours.
